I feel for any family that loses a loved one, so my heart goes out to those attached to Anna Nicole Smith but...why as a society does her death make top news? Why does Britney's divorce and Tom Cruise's sexuality entertain? I ask this as someone that is drawn in, often beyond her own self control, to E! or People.

I think celebrity deaths are just more than I can grasp. For some reason, I just don't think that public figures should pass away.
It's weird, but I felt the same way after the Crocodile Hunger died. It's just...unsettling.
I could care less about Britney & Tom, but Anna was 'Playmate of the Year' which makes her very important to at least half the population.
