My Ears are Still Young!

I keep reading on this cell phone ring that only kids can hear and how this will be a problem in the classroom. They call it the mosquito ring tone. I am rather intriqued with it and I went to this website to check it out. I can proudly say I can hear the ringer! One of the articles I read was in a educators magazine and it said most teachers over 25 can't hear the high pitched ring. Try it out.

Yes, it's true that the 14.4kHz whistle can be difficult for "older" people to hear.

(I, like you Keather, am still able to hear it)

My question is...who cares if your teacher can't hear your phone ring...its not like you can sit and talk on the phone while you're in the middle of class (or text for that matter). duh.

My argument exactly. Now if the phones are invisiable and the students voices were at a frequency I was unable to hear things would be different. Oh, that is called text messages...right.

I can still hear it too. Thank goodness this is not a problem that I have to deal with...yet.

I hear it, I hear it!

I mean, what do the inventors of that ringtone think kids are? Dogs?
